ESPY Awards 2024

The Knights had a blast at the 2nd Annual Mount Michael ESPY Awards! Tim Carlson ‘10 delivered an inspiring speech as our guest speaker. The event showcased our incredible year in athletics and activities, with students leading the way in the voting process. Each award category featured 4 nominees selected by head coaches, and students made the final decisions. Nominated students prepared one-minute speeches, adding to the excitement. Here are the award categories and descriptions:
- Newcomer of the Year: Recognizes a first-year (freshman, transfer, or first year playing sport) student-athlete who excelled in competition during their season.
- Student-Manager of the Year: Assigned to one athletic team manager for their career and assistance to the coaching staff during practices and games.
- Performance of the Year: Recognizes a specific individual performance during the season.
- Team of the Year: Recognizes a team’s accomplishments during their season.
- Activity of the Year: Recognizes an activity’s accomplishments during the year.
- Yell Leader of the Year: Recognizes a yell leader that showed consistency, sportsmanship, and team pride at games home and away.
- Most Improved: Athlete who displayed exemplary improvement at their respective sport.
- Activity Member of the Year: Given to the most outstanding student involved in non-athletic activities.
- Bricklayer: Recognizes a leader on and off the field during their time at Mount Michael.
This event was a huge success and will be a cherished tradition for years to come!
