Knight Writers Receive Highest Honor for Yearbook Publication
The journalism team took home the Cornhusker for the 2018 yearbook, the Seeker, at the Nebraska High School Press Association fall conference on October 15. This is the first time the team has won this prestigious award. The teams other publications were also recognized. The freelance(mmfreelance.org) the online arm of student publications received a Superior and the print edition, the Mount, received an award of distinction. While it was great to be recognized the team also learned a lot from the sessions they attended, including the keynote speaker, Boyd Huppert, news reporter, KARE 11, Minneapolis-St. Paul who produced “Emmett & Erling: Lessons from Viral Video Phenomenon” and who has been a reporter in the Twin Cities for over 20 years.
