Mount Michael Names Head Basketball Coach
Mount Michael Benedictine Names Todd Taravella as Head Basketball Coach
Mount Michael Benedictine is proud to announce the hiring of Todd Taravella as the new head coach of the Knights basketball program. Coach Taravella brings extensive experience at both the high school and collegiate levels, a strong commitment to student-athlete development, and a passion for building winning cultures.
Taravella served as a graduate assistant for the University of Tennessee men’s basketball program, where he was part of the coaching staff that won the 2018 SEC Regular Season Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. During his time at Tennessee, he worked with several future NBA players, including Grant Williams, Admiral Schofield, and Jordan Bone.
Most recently, Coach Taravella was a varsity assistant at Crete High School. During his time with the program, Crete made back-to-back state semifinal appearances and posted a 26–1 record in 2023. In the past three years, six Crete players earned athletic scholarships to continue their basketball careers at the collegiate level.
Coach Taravella is looking forward to building strong relationships within the Mount Michael community and continuing the Knights’ tradition of excellence on and off the court.
Please join us in welcoming Coach Todd Taravella to the Mount.
