4 National Merit Semi-Finalists 2 Commended Students
Congratulations are due for 4 Knights who were recently named as National Merit Semi-finalist. This year’s notable Knights are Jacob Gathje, Tharein Potuhera, Alex Schrier, and Brayden Whitaker.
Over 1.6 million juniors in about 22,000 high schools entered the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2017 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), which served as an initial screen of program entrants. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest scoring entrants in each state. National Merit Semi-Finalists
Jacob Gathje is the son of John and Melissa Gathje of Omaha. Jacob attended St. Patrick Grade School in Elkhorn.
Tharein Potuhera is the son of Asthika and Durga Potuhera of Omaha. Tharein attended St. Wenceslaus Grade School in Omaha.
Alexander Schrier is the son of Alan and Lisa Schrier of Omaha. Alex attended Russell Middle School in Omaha.
Brayden Whitaker is the son of Jim and Shelly Whitaker of Omaha. Brayden attended St. Patrick Grade School in Elkhorn.
Congratulations also to Mount Michael’s 2 National Merit Commended students Josh Davies and Alex Payne.
34,000 out of the 1.5 million students who took the exam received a Letter of Commendation for their great academic potential.
National Merit Commended Students
Josh Davies is the son of H. Dele & Arike Davies of Omaha. Josh attended Lifegate Christian School before coming to Mount Michael.
Alex Payne is the Son of Matt & Nicole Payne of Omaha. Alex Attended. Alex attended Elkhorn Ridge Middle School.
